According to what could be found about this bird, it feeds on fruit, lives in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. The global population size of this species is believed to be large as the species is described as 'common' in at least parts of its range (del Hoyo et al. 1997).
